Teacher Jars

I dread this day every year...THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! I miss my little ones and my big one when they are away:( Oh, and how do you wake such sweet faces after such a fun summer of sleeping in?
SO SAD! One thing I always enjoy is making thier new teachers a little somthin'! I sent them off with this little gift for their teachers today. I totally stole the idea from a post I saw (HERE). Aren't they cool? I used a canning jar and used the lid as a little tag. That way if they decide they want to use it for candy of erasers or whatever they have the option.

Once again, I used my handy dandy Cricut and my Make The Cut program to design the label. Easy! Hope everyone has a great school year! Happy day to everyone;)

Playin' Around in The Playroom!

Y'all remember the cowboy playroom? Well, I've been tinkering around in it all day. I have a few projects to share with you. Here's my first project. I found this cute table and chairs at a yard sale for 3 bucks. I just love how it has a little country, rustic feel to it. But, the color just wasn't workin' for me.
So, I painted it black. What a surprise! It looks so nice and clean now, right? I love sitting in the little chairs to do puzzles with the kids.(You guessed it...the table is really for me:)
Here's my next project of the day. This is a wall for all the kids' artwork that they bring home from school. My fridge looks so nice and neat now! WOO HOO! I went shopping in my Mom's garage again and brought home all these frames and painted a few of them up. I plan on changing out the art monthly. The kids already feel pretty special to have their artwork FRAMED!

Here are a few pictures of their fabulous art work.

My last project, I promise, is my little dice inside the lantern! It's all coming together slowly!
Do you see the sign on the door? Isn't it super cute? My son made it at cubscouts. Another fun little addition.
Now, the next thing on my list to do, paint this door so it isn't so stinkin' white.
Little muddy hands and a white door DO NOT mix! Hope you all had a great Monday.

What's For DINNER?

I don't know about the rest of you, but the "What's for Dinner?" question drives me crazy! It's quite the popular question around here. We just had breakfast and they want to know what we are having for dinner! SERIOUSLY? I think I've come up with the perfect solution. A MENU BOARD! I know...not the newest idea out there. I still had a lot of fun making mine! Here's how I did it.
First I mooched this fun sign off my brother. He said he would ask for it back if he needed it. I warned him, "I'm revamping it!" I have his okay...so here we go!

I pulled everything off of it...EKKKKK! Sorry Char!

I spray painted the frame with Rustoleum Ivory. I forgot to get a picture, I also spray painted the middle with Rustoleum Chalk Board paint. I LOVE THIS STUFF!

I had this frame from a DI pile from my Dad. I painted it Ivory too.

I removed the pretty picture from the center..hehe! Then used it as a template to cut out some cute scrapbook paper.

I stuck it in the frame and cut out my "MENU" with my cricut.

Then, I whipped out my handy dandy gorilla glue (i love this stuff too!) and glued it to the top of the sign.

After sanding down some of the edges of my frames and waiting for my glue to dry I added some eye hooks.

And some ribbon. That's it.

Here it is all finished.

And, here it is at kids eye level on the fridge. Oh, NO! I knew I forgot something when I left the store...SHOOT! I forgot to get CHALK! Looks like I'm heading out again.
Thanks for being here! Hope you have a great weekend!

Cratein' love

I have always coveted my sis-in-law's kitchen table vignette! SO BAD. Then when we were just up visiting her, I said to myself," Jennie, you are so copying this cute idea!" Thanks Andrea! I have been on the search for a fun rustic somethin' to use as a little tray.

SCORE! Say it with me...FREE GARAGE SALE! I know...Good stuff.
Then I had this jar I had purchased at Target after Christmas for almost nothing. Filled it with moss from Dollar Tree.

I cleaned up my crate and removed the lid and here we are at my little kitchen table. It makes it all seem so cozy!
WOO HOO! Another project to check off my list. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to go and vote for my lil' ol' hinges project for iron crafters!
